About Us

What is AJEFS?

Founded by jurists of the Saskatchewan Bar in 1989, the Association des juristes d’expression française de la Saskatchewan (French-Speaking Jurists Association of Saskatchewan) is a non-profit organization focused on developing and providing access to justice in French in Saskatchewan.

Mission:

Contribute significantly to improving access to justice in French for the Saskatchewan population through close-knit and effective collaboration with the Fransaskois community, the justice system and various levels of government.

Mandate:

  • Offer information and training services
  • Contributing to improving access to justice
  • Provide referral services in response to information and legal service needs in French
  • Promote careers in the legal field

How does AJEFS help its clients?

  • By providing legal information in French
  • By referring French-speaking lawyers in the client’s required field of law
  • Offering help if the client has not found or received legal services in French
  • Guest speakers for groups, schools and community associations
  • Development of specialized workshops about legal matters for local groups, regional and provincial associations

Legal information and resources are available to the general public and professionals.

The Centre’s services are free and confidential

AJEFS’ French Legal Information Centre offers:

  • Legal information
  • Explanations of laws and court rules
  • Referral services to French-speaking lawyers or specialized agencies
  • Facilitate research and direct clients throughout the justice system
  • Access to resources and computer equipment

The Centre also offers workshops and conferences in the legal field, mock trial workshops, pedagogical tools, student debates, Law days and training for professionals in the legal field.

The Centre is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Our services are offered province-wide.
